2D mesh element area

I'd like to calculate the area of mesh elements in 2D so that I can appropriately scale a Peclet calculation but I'm not sure I follow the documentation well.

The peclet calculation is being done in matlab by exporting the magnitude of velocity from comsol following Pe = vL/D; v = velocity magnitude, L = characteristic length scale, and D = Diffusion where L and D are constants, thus v (along with spatial coordinates) is the only data exported from comsol.

If the data area exported on a regular grid, it does not account for the area contribution from each mesh element by my understanding, thus a comparison like Pe<1 vs Pe>1 is not successful.

I'm struggling to figure out how to incorporate the area. I see there are two variable h, and dvol. h does not seem appropriate because it is simply the longest length of a mesh element. dvol seems like a likely second candidate but I do not follow the documentation on it well.

On an element by element basis, is dvol equivalent to dxdydyz?

Does the dependent variable of the creeping flow module, spf.U, incorporate dvol, or to determine the area weighted contribution by mesh element, is it necessary to multiply by weighted method of dvol?
