Using the imaginary number

Hey all,

Does COMSOL recognize i as the imaginary number? If so, can you use this in the electromagnetic wave module to specify complex epsilons(dielectric coeffecient) using i? For example,

parameter: eps1
expression: 1 + i

and then use this eps1 in the electromagnetics module?

Hi

Check the doc, COMSOL accepts imaginary values with "i" or "j", but for postprocessing often it gives complex values as "phasors" with an amplitude and phase representation, again try a search on the doc
