A Standalone Interface for Web-Based Virtual Reality of Calculated Fields
A standalone interface for web-based virtual reality and the underlying visualization system are presented. The developed user-friendly web application is implemented based on nowadays web techniques. Details for data handling and rendering are given to visualize COMSOL Multiphysics® results. The application runs on multiple platforms like mobile phones, tablets, desktop computers and 3D-TVs in combination with a common browser and without any additional plugins. The provided stereo display mode shows stereoscopic images on a 3D-TV or on a head mounted display. This is of special interest, since these techniques enable a powerful low cost experience of the simulation results, even in areas of limited space like an office. The presented figures and the evaluations proves the functionality of the developed interface and the visualization system.
