Lumped Loudspeaker Driver Using a Lumped Mechanical System
Application ID: 55901
Example of a moving-coil loudspeaker where lumped parameters represent the behavior of the electrical and mechanical components.
The Thiele-Small parameters (small-signal parameters) serve as input to the lumped model, which is represented using the Electric Circuit interface. The lumped model is coupled to a 2D axisymmetric pressure acoustics model, which is used to describe the surrounding air domain. The output from the model includes, among many things, the impedance, and the radiated acoustic power.
In this model, the mechanical speaker components such as moving mass, suspension compliance, and suspension mechanical losses are modeled using the Lumped Mechanical System interface.
This model example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
- COMSOL Multiphysics® et
- Module Acoustics et
- Module Multibody Dynamics et
- soit le Module AC/DC, Module Battery Design, Module MEMS, Module Plasma, Module RF, ou Module Semiconductor
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products.
