Pivoting link between two beams

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey,

I would like to simulate a pivot link between two beams. It seems simple in appearance : two straight beams are crossing (one just above the other), I have set the points at the intersections (one for each beam) and I would like these two points to have same displacements and to allow free rotations of their respective beam (actually only rotations in the plan formed by the two beam).

Again, it seems simple but I have tried identity mapping, spring foundation and even simulating an other beam with special properties between the two points of the intersection, but I have no ideas left...Thanks for your help !

I am working on COMSOL Multiphysics 4.3. 3D geometry, beam physic and stationary study.

Yours,
Boubker
