loading then unloading simple elastic box - how do I implement it?

Hi all, I'm trying to implement a simple elastic box (as intermediate to a more complicated geometry) that in step 1 I compress by displacement of the left face and step 2 I remove the compression.

Of course I'd expect the box to return to its original shape, but at the end of step 2 the deformed shape from 1 remains even though the stresses in the box go to nearly 0.

Can anyone please take a look and tell me what I might be doing wrong? Forgive my still newness to the field in advance.
