Calculating the optical mode intensity in a particular area of fiber

I am designing a complex doped fiber and I need to calculate the optical mode intensity in a chose area. As far as I know, COMSOL provides a power flow in the study result, i.e. emw.poavz, and it seems to be the Poynting vector due to the same unit. Plus, we can use COMSOL to process some variable by derived values. If I use the surface integration with emw.poavz, what I will obtain is the total power. However, what I really want is the intensity, and it can just be done by a summation. Can COMSOL do any sum or I can define any equation in order to accurately calculate the derived value?
Thank you.
