How to set the tuning parameter for "Moving Boundary Smoothing"?

hello,

i am learning to work with "Moving Mesh (ale)". I tried 'Prescribed normal mesh velocity'. There is an option 'Enable moving boundary smoothing'. A value can be give to the so-called tuning parameter. I played a little bit with the value. I don't see its effect on the final results. What does it actually mean?
