2D Photonic crystals

Dear all,

I am trying to model a very simple 2D Photonic crystal. After applying Floquet BCs, I do a parametric sweep over kx, however the eigenvalues I obtain are kind of messy. I introduced just two simple model materials, that only differ by refractive index. Can you maybe help me in solving this probably trivial error. I only worked with photonic crystals before and there this approach worked.

I know this is no 3 years old but I am havin a similar problem. I am working on the Bandgap Analysis of a Photonic Crystal model and planned on modifying the refractive index so that it would match my sample.
However I am getting errors when simply using the refractive index of my sample (silicon).
Since I don't really know what I am doing an how COMSOL calculates the bandgap, any help regarding this would be helpful.
