How the damping comes in to the time dependent study

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all

I want to ask one question about the damping

I just simulated the time dependent study of a beam under a step function of voltage. [electromechanics module (solid mechanics + es), with air domain] I didn't set any kind of damping parameter of materials. but the movenent showed a decayed oscillation. May I ask how COMSOL included this damping inside?

Thank you so much for your attention.

best regards
