Extracting values to use in next model

I have two 2D models, one with Solid Mechanics and General PDE physics on a finer grid, and one with Solid Mechanics physics on a coarser grid. I would like to use the values from the PDE solution (representing the thickness of the plate) as input in the coarser model. However, I want to use the average of the values of this PDE solution over an area equal to the size of the element of the coarser model, so the coarser model has a 'checkered' input field. Is there a way to do this?
Thank you in advance,
