Analyzing Electric Motor Designs in COMSOL Multiphysics®
Durée: 50:11
In this archived webinar, you’ll get an introduction to modeling electric motors in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software. We begin by going over the capabilities of the software for examining electromagnetic effects, thermal effects, and vibrations in such rotating machines. Then, we demonstrate how to set up and solve a model of a permanent magnet machine (PMM). We also go over the importance of topology, parameter, and shape optimization in motor design.
We end the webinar with a discussion of the new features and functionality available as of version 6.0 for enhanced motor modeling support, including:
- The Arkkio Torque Calculation feature, which provides a simple way to calculate the resulting torque in rotating machinery applications
- The Periodic Pair feature, which simplifies the modeling of linear motors in 2D
- Updates to the Magnetostriction multiphysics coupling
