Modeling Acoustic Streaming in COMSOL® Version 6.1
In this archived webinar, you will get an introduction to the functionality for modeling acoustic streaming with the Acoustics Module. This new functionality was released with version 6.1 of COMSOL Multiphysics®. We start by discussing what acoustic streaming is and why it is important in microfluidics, ultrasound beams, biomedical modeling, and industry. Then we introduce the new built-in multiphysics interfaces and couplings for acoustic streaming simulations: the Acoustic Streaming from Pressure Acoustics interface and Acoustic Streaming from Thermoviscous Acoustics interface, and the Acoustic Streaming Domain Coupling and Acoustic Streaming Boundary Coupling.
In two different demos, we cover how to use these new features to model acoustic streaming in a 2D cross section of a microfluidic channel and thermoacoustic streaming in a glass capillary, respectively.
