Predicting the Thermal Performance of Electronic Devices
Thermal management is an important factor in the design and performance of all electromagnetic devices, as it affects device cost, efficiency, reliability, and safety, among other factors. Mathematical modeling and numerical simulation can be used to investigate heat transfer mechanisms, temperature variations, and thermal effects in order to make informed design choices and better predict device performance.
This application note presents a variety of thermal management use cases that are applicable to electromagnetic devices and showcases the use of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software for evaluating these design concepts.
