Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication in a Cylindrical Journal Bearing

In this example, the importance of including elastic deformations when analyzing heavily loaded fluid-film bearings is investigated. The structural parts are modeled using the Solid Mechanics interface, while the pressure in the lubricant is determined by the means of the Hydrodynamic Bearing interface.
The journal and bearing are assumed to be made of aluminum, and the lubricant imitates a generic oil with pressure dependent properties.
The elastohydrodynamic results are compared with a simplified hydrodynamic simlulation.
