COMSOL could modulate the failare inside of the material?

I have one question. What will happens when the simulating electric field will increase the withstand value of the material (isolation). Will the comsol modulate the failure (breakdowns) proces inside in the material by itself?

Hi
you would need to define the preabkown process physics yourself, I can imagine that you set a non linear condition to increase the resitivity if the field become too large and then see how this "propagates" through your material. Take a look at the example(s) of fatigue and crack propagation in solids, it could give you some ideas
