Piecewise function

Hi there,
I wish to define a boundary heat flux that turns on and off with time. I am a little confused with how this process is carried out. I thought that it would be possible to stipulate values within function sections. However what will my argument be and how do I define the piecewise function within the boundary heat flux section?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi
I would suggest to define a function of time "t" (use "t[1/s]"as argument when calling) that defines your shape (and use smoothed turn on/off) and then you multiply with an amplitude (with units) value
you call then the function in your boundary condition
