I am looking to use a thin elastic layer between several sequential horizontal layers (of different mechanical properties), to model how stresses would alter throughout the system if a crack is introduced in the system. These thin elastic layers would hopefully act as a weak contacts between layers.
Please could you explain how to use this function, I am unsure what values to use as the spring constant. I have uploaded my model for reference.
Kind regards,
Nathaniel
