Problems finding the correct application mode for a ultrasonic stimulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

currently I'm working with comsol multiphysics at the university to do some thermography analysis on defective steel parts. The intention is a thermal stimulation of these parts by using different methods of heat insertion. In the past I created some inductive stimulated models.

Now I want to create a ultrasonice stimulated model to find defective areas in a steel part. The following link shows a picture which explains what I tried to describe.

I only want to create a very simple steel block with a gap on the surface. After a ultrasonic stimulation there should be a temperature gradient where the gap is located.

My first problem is, that I don't know which application modes I should use. I had a rough idea using the acoustics module combined with the general heat transfer module, without success.

I hope there is anybody who could help me creating such a model.

Or is there a tutorial model for such area of application?

Thanking you in anticipation

Hi Stefan,

I also have a similar problem. I am trying to stimulate a combination of oil and water in comsol and try to see the effect as temperature rise or pressure gradient.

Have you solved your problem. If yes, can you please send me some helping material or your model?

Many thanks in advance for any of your help.
