how to make periodic heat flux

I am doing a simulation about a beam inpinging on a surface with periodic bunches. I am not able to simulate the heat flux on the surface with this periodicity. bunches are 100 microsecond long, every 1 second, and the power in the bunch is 300*10^6 W/m^2. I tried all: variables, function rect or piecewise, parameters, but nothing works, I received always the orange answer about not variable defined, not right units and so on. I am very sad!!!
