I am still battling with my complex 3D laminar flow problem (meaning, I can't use 2D or axisymmetric etc). I was wondering if someone could help me with the following:
- Does anyone know if the Laminar Flow module takes a friction factor into account? If so, is it 64/(local Re) or something else?
- Does anyone know how one could modify the Laminar Flow module to receive a different friction factor? I find it very odd that the pipe flow module has this functionality yet doesn't work on 3D models, while the Laminar Flow module works on 3D models but doesn't have this functionality anywhere that I can find.
Essentially, I have a specific geometry and data from experiments done with the part that was manufactured based on this geometry and I am trying to see if I can match the simulation to the performance. I have the geometry and the boundary conditions all set, but the pressure drops are too low, so I'm wondering if the friction factor used by COMSOL is affecting this.
