Missing initial/ boundary condition in result

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am working with solid mechanics and Richards' equation, and built a model in which I set the initial value in Richards to be that hp (pressure head) is -10 everywhere, and I set a boundary condition such that at one particular point there would be a constant pressure head of 0 (using the "pressure head" node).

I checked my results and looked specifically at a graph of the pressure head at t=0 to check that my original conditions were being followed, and while the majority of the outer domain showed a pressure head of -10, it was not constant - it was higher above and lower below, as though things had already begun to change even though I was looking at time t=0. I also noticed that the small area that I designated to have a pressure head of 0 looked to actually have on of -10 just like its surround areas.

Is there a reason COMSOL would not use the BC's and IC's that I assigned? Or have I perhaps misunderstood something and assigned something improperly?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Shoshana

I have exactly the same problem!

Does anybody has the experience about this problem and how did you solve it?

Thanks for your help.
