cold pipes transient simulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello !

I need to make a simulation of a straight hot water pipe during the initial transition from cold piping to the resulting regime of warm pipes. What I need to find out is how long it takes for the pipes to be warmed by the passing water.
I started to model the problem with Comsol pipe module, but I'm not sure if this module can handle heat transfer transients. I reached the conclusion that it can only handle fluid transients.

Can anyone confirm this ?
