Are the variables in the equation view vectors or scalars?

Hi!

When I click the show button and select the equation view in the RFmodule, from the equation view we can see many variables.I think these variables can be used espesially in the data postprocessing. But are these variables all scalars?Or some are scalars and orthers are vectors?Besides, why there are only tangential electric field components, for example, emw.tEx but there are not normal electric field components, for example, emw.nEx?thank you!!!

If I want to calculate the square of the module of surface electric field tangential component |E//|^2,(emw.tEx^2+emw.tEy^2) ,is it right?thank you!!!

If I want to get the normal electric displacement field(vector),(emw.Dx*emw.nx+emw.Dy*emw.ny+emw.Dz*emw.nz),is it right? And is the emw.Dx or emw.Dx*emw.nx a vector or just a scalar?thank you!!!
