question about the frozen inclusion

In the case of frozen-inclusion, I see that the fluid mass increased after ice melting is reflected by the source term as shown in the figure below, but I don't understand why it is set as a negative value (density of ice - density of water is negetive) with the increase of ice melting water. I hope the expert can answer my confusion, thank you!!!!
