Hello all,

I am trying to model a two dimensional spring mass system in COMSOL 5.6 using the Lumped Mechanical System module. However, there is no option to do so. I know how to model a one dimensional spring-mass system. The LMS users' guide also provides no information.

Kindly help in this regard.

The model looks like this.

One way to do this is to use multibody dynamics and couple it to a lumped mechanical system through the lumped-structure connection multiphysics. This should allow for 2D by specifying the direction, as shown in the attached screenshot. -Mark
