I just got confused about the mass balance when modifying the dispersion coefficient of solute transport in a tube. With the value decreased, higher concentration, but the total mass increase accordingly. Has anyone met The same problem? And just want to confirm that I use my own dispersion Coeffcient evaluated from experimental measurement as the diffusion coefficient. Is this principally justified ?is the diffusion coefficient exclusively the molecular diffusion?
thank you
