water table levels in an aquifer with variable inflow rates

Im trying to determine the water table level in a gravel bed of 0.6 m depth, in which a variable water flow is defined. With a constant flow, the geometry of the domain is tuned to match the water table level found with a stationary simulation using Darcy. However, when I vary the flow rate through time, I have to use a time dependent study, and therefore the water table level varies together with the flow rate. I'm trying to use deformed meshes, with a predefined deformation on the top boundary of the aquifer of the likes of dl.H-y. However, it does not seem to work for me.
Any recomendations will be welcomed.
Thank you
