How can I decouple a coupled model?

I have a model coupling RF and PDE Modules, where the dependent variables (e.g., rf or pde) of one module serve as source for the other module. Although the coupled model can be well solved, I would like to solve it in an iterative way.
Say, solve RF part with pde(0) as excitation and get rf(1). Then solve PDE part with rf(1) as excitation to get pde(1). And then use pde(1) as excitation to solve RF part again for rf(2). Repeat this process until convergence is reached.
However, here comes the problem. The two modules are coupled. I can not solve one independently. For example, in the equation of PDE part I have variable rf (the source term) in it. When I want to solve RF part, solver sees the dependent variable rf in the equation of PDE part and involves the equation too. This makes independent solving impossible. How can I let the solver only solve the equation of RF part without PDE part involved?
