Simplify imported CAD data

Hello all,

I was wondering if there was any effective way to simplify a perhaps overly complex imported CAD representation?

Hi

in COMSOl you have some "defeatuing functions" see the graphics section, but I mostly find it easier to simplify the CAD with the CAD tool I must admit I have spent some time train my designers to make me also a "derived" FEM compatible 3D CAD from their "mechanical" CAD so that we work on the same model but without all the details of the holes, champfers, fillets, nuts and bolts, and than "thin" features are "split" up such that the meshing of largely different sized components is done in several adjacent domains

Good luck
