How to create uneven surfaces?

I want to draw a kind of cube, with the top face with the topography and different internal layers that divide the cube into the different rock layers of the subsoil. I have already placed the topography on top integrating a DEM to the model. However, the internal layers do not know how to enter them in the drawing. Since the information of the elevation of the layers is not in file. DEM. if I create them in CIVIL3D, a surface is created with millions of triangles and many faces. I need only one face but with the irregular surface something similar to what you get by importing a DEM Does anyone know how to create uneven surfaces?
