proper model for light absorption (energy dissipation) in thin films

I have a question on how to model energy from light absorbed inside organic thin films: which is the proper module I should use? Is RF module proper for this task? How about other alternative? We have purchased some modules including wave propagation (but not RF module). Does "wave propagation" work for my task?
