Cricular cross section 2D modelling in cantilever carbon nanotube problem

Hello,
I've been working with pull-in and pul-out voltages for a carbon nanotube NEM system.
Currently I'm using 2D modelling but I cannot get accurate results due to the thickness definition. I would like to know if there is some way I can model the circular coss section in 2D? I've read about using the 2D axysimmetric coordinate system but all my problem uses cartesian coordinates except for the tube shape so I do not think it's a good idea.
