I want to have a rough understanding of how the clearance between a pneumatic piston-cylinder affects the total drag/force generated on the position. I have elaborated the problem here in this link with details. Not finding any relevant studies, I would like to perform some simulations in COMSOL. Consider the 2D axisymeteric geometry below:
P1 is the inlet with constant pressure and P0 is the ambient pressure. I have implemented a very premitive model in COMSOL (attachment). How can I calculate the total force applied on the pistone?
