Define an anisotropic permeability for a porous media

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all

I want to define an anisotropic permeability for a porous media, whose direction is the same as the direction of the maximum principle stress. The problem is that the direction of the maximum principle stress will change during the simulation. So how can I relate the permeability to the principle stress?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi,

You can use the principal stress directions (variable names described in www.comsol.com/community/forums/general/thread/136812/ ) for defining the orientations of a Base Vector System.

Henrik
