Comsol API a beginner question

HI all
So I am starting to learn the Comsol API which I will have to use soon.

I have a simple question in that context.

Once you have created and run a geometry, all geometrical elements are assigned a number by Comsol engine.
This number is displayed and easily used in the standard comsol gui. for example when defining the physic and the BC

My question is what is/are the function(s) I can use to get that value in the API context ?
For example, If I create a geometry with a single square domain named sq1, its value is going to be 1.
What is the function f [sq1] that will return that value?

This is of particular importance for building scripts where the geometry definition can be modified in its detail but you have to maintain remeshing, physic definition and BC according to the physical requirement of the problem
I know it is not a typical question but I am sure it is obvious for someone already accustomed to these API

Thanks in advance anyway

JF
