Build up a model for simulation of E field distribution

Hi,

I am trying to rum simulation about E field distribution and want to know the E field distribution on XY plane at Z=0. The EM wave at the top and propagates along Z direction downwards. I would like to know if the boundary conditions are set as in the attachment. What would it be outside my geometry? Would it be repeated array or vacuum or something else?
