Twisted helical coil

Hi,

I'm wondering whether it's possible to create a helical coil, which is twisted into a circular shape? (Like a torus but with a helix instead).

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi

I'm not sure I understand what you want, is it a poloidal twist of a torus ?

Because the COMSOL Helix, for topology reasons I suspect, cannot be made loop into itself to close its volume (at least I do not see how ;).

But you might be able to define a coordinate system that twists like a poloidal rotation, check the blog on the rotating frames

Good luck
