How to set different properties along the same boundary within different contacting status?

I'm modeling a indentation test which a spherical indenter is forced to press a plain plate. When the indenter is moved down, the contacting area keeps spreading since it turns to a contatcing line from a contatc point in the 2D view. So in this indentation test, the contacting area is increasing.
Who could tell me how to set different properties like pressure or continuity along the contacting area from the area which is not contacted of the spherical indenter's arc and the plate's upper edge?
