Seperating one domain into more domains

Hi everyone,

I have the following question:

If I create (for example) a block COMSOL counts it as one domain. Is there a possibility where for example I can alter that block in order to make one side a domain and the rest of the block a domain. In conclusion I would be left with two domains overall.

I tried it with the partition tool and work plane, but this didn't work for me.
