Piezoelectric energy harvester

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,
I'm designing a very basic piezoelectric energy harvester. I apply an acceelration to the frame, which should cause the piezo to vibrate and generate micro volts of electrcity.

-Geometry
I have an aluminium frame (dimensions: 200x200x100mm)
a PZT-5A piezoelectric device (0.2x10x100mm) extruding in the middle of the frame.
-Physics
The frame assigned solid mechanics. With a prescribed acceleration of 10m/s^s acting in the x-direction
The piezo has a fixed constraint at the base (attached to the frame)
-Study
Frequency domain - 2.243Hz

PROBLEM
Most of the time the frame moves independently and the piezo remains stationary and does not move with the frame.
The times it does moves, i get no vibrations at all.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix what i'm doing wrong or a change in design? Any help would be useful! Thank you

i think applying union operation between the frame and the piezo will solve the problem.
