Can I use 2D boundary condition?

Hi,

I am trying to simulate the concentration distribution of reaction with known boundary condition. If I know the concentration on the each spot or pixel of boundary at any time, how can I pass the boundary to the COMSOL simulator? Which means my concentration distribution on boundary is not uniform, I cannot apply a single value to the boundary. Is this possible?

Hi

COMSOL accepts for most BC full expressions, not only a number, so you can use spatial or time, or frequency or other dependencies (T,p, B ...) distributed over the boundary

Thank you very much for the help.

If I know the boundary condition, for example the concentration on the boundary at any location and any time: c(x,y,t), but this boundary condition is not written by an equation, it is just a matrix data from experiment. Could I still use COMSOL to simulation? Is there a related chapter in the user manual I can read?

Hi

Then you create an interpolation function from your data and you apply tha on the BC.

Or you apply a given material property and ask COMSOL to adjust some depedent variable such that you respect your boundary condition, all depends for what you are looking for
