Mesh manipulation: determine which section of the geometry to have the minimum element size

Comsol has the gradient mesh capability meaning we can give the maximum and minimum element size. Is there any way to manipulate these max and min element size so that the user determines which side of the geometry would need minimum element size? For example the physics of my system require to have smaller mesh elements on the boundary of the geometry and I am not sure if comsol is capabale of doing such mesh manipulation.

There are many ways to manipulate the meshing in Comsol Multiphysics. You can set specific meshing constraints at points, along edges, on faces, and within domains. You can sweep and map meshes. If you don't like the default settings, use user-defined meshes. Check the help system for more info.
