Bend loss in a step index fiber

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am tying to simulate bend loss calculation in a single mode fiber and getting electric field in clad area which is not expected result and please help me to find out what I am doing wrong.

The brief description on the problem:
Core radius=4.5 micron and RI function of radius and angle
Clad radius=62.5 micron and RI function of radius and angle (up to radius, 46mm which less than Max core RI) and remaining is function of angle
PML radius =72.5 and RI function of angle
Bend radius=10 mm

The MPH file is attached to know details of case setup.

The result shows that electric field concentrates in clad region which is not correct.

Thanks,
Ramesh
