Electrostatic actuation problem: Do not get any deformation after coupling force into Solid Mechanics module.

I'm trying to model a deformation of the membrane when subject to electrostatic for by using Solid Mechanics, Electrostatic, and Moving mesh. However, I'm running into 2 problems.

1. I get a warning about inverted mesh. I'm not sure how solve it.
2. I've coupled force from electrostatic module into Solid Mechanics, but I haven't got any deformation/stress output from this module. I've verified that the force output from electrostatic is not zero but I don't know why when I try to couple it into Solid Mechanics, I get zero result.

Note: I disable the ale module because the file is too large to attach.

Did you manage to find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issue. In 3.5a this method of conversion from electrostatics to structural mechanics works fine. My thought was there is a problem with the variable name es.Forcex_Fes etc.

Thanks,

Britt

Hi,

the coupling can be made directly via force per unit, then you have the variable for your force available.
But I think, there is a unit problem, because the program calculates a displacement of several 1000m.
Check everything in basic units.
