Surface Data as initial condition

I have the data of temperature distribution over a surface, which is random in nature. I have to use this distribution, as an initial condition to another model. Which would be an efficient method to this? Iniitial condition can be written as a function of x and y, however how to convert the available data into such a surface fit equation,or is there any other direct methods available with Comsol interface?

You can import your data into an interpolation function.
