Showing boundary not use for meshing and solving in result graphics

I created a simple beam bending model as attached to experiment ways to meet the goal. There is a rectangle beneath the free end of the beam. I used "Virtual operations->Igonore Faces" with "ignore adjacent edges and vertices" unchecked to hide it from meshing.

The edges of the rectangle are shown in the result plots. Is it a correct approach? Is there any simpler method? How about for an 3D/solid oject?

It seems that the solver has to run again to see a newly added rectangle.

Thank you.
