I am working on a Laminar Two-Phase Flow, Level Set model. Previously I was using the Preset study "Transient with Initialization" which included a "Transient Initialization" study step. In the latest version of COMSOL, I noticed a new study step called " Phase Initialization". I tried to use it. I have run into some problems which I cannot figure out. I believe by understanding the working of "Phase Initialization", I could troubleshoot it. I looked at the equation it uses. I don't understand what is the "GI" term that is used and how it contributes to the level-set equation. Moreover there is the term "lref" (reference length) which has an arbitrary value. I am not able to understand how it works. I didn't get enough information from the the documentation.
I will be glad if I get some help regarding understanding this. Any additional literature that I could read is also welcome.
Regards
