How to implement Arc-length method into COMSOL?

Dear all,
I want to use arc-length method to solve tensile softening problems, but COMSOL does not have this method yet. Althrough a COMSOL BLOG provided an alternative method to solve the softening problems, it is not applicable to my case. I am wondering whether it is possible to implement the arc-length method to COMSOL by ourselves, through MATLAB or other programming tools.
Does anyone have some ideas about that? Thank you for your help and time.
