How to apply DC voltage

Dear friends,
I want to apply DC voltage and I am confused whether I should use only electrostatic (ES) with electric potential (on the electrode on that drop is sitting ) plus ground connection wire on top of the drop.
Or
should I use electric circuit (CIR) with ES via connecting through DC source of voltage with the terminal in ES?
another doubt is whether Polygon could be used as copper wire or only domain can work for wire as copper material?
